Pahalgam October 22,2017:  The government model higher secondary school at Pahalgam organised their annual function on Friday , in which a number of parents, students and teachers spoke and made presentations on various topics.
Principal of the higher secondary school pahalgam Afrooz BABA Shb was chief guest of the said occasion.
Mushtaq Pahalgami, President Himalayan Welfare Organization-HWO also spoke at the ocassion and said that in the present era of massive knowledge explosion, it is required to equip the children with modern education as well as extracurricular activities to enable them compete stiff competition ahead. He also called for a congenial atmosphere in the educational institutions that could help a child to express himself fully to exhibit his talent. In this connection, he said, the role of teacher is of primary importance as his every act has a long lasting impact on the mind of a child which is like a clean state.

Pahalgami said parent’s role in personality development of a child is also vital adding that “cradle is the first school where education of a child starts”. He said both teachers and parents should contribute with responsibility for the noble cause of education and teaching.

He aslo highlighted the importance of education in girls' and women's empowerment and said that it was heartening to see so many girl students doing well in school. Pahalgami also praised tge school for organizing such events and for their contribution to the cause of environmental conservation and awareness.
Others present on the occasion were Shabir Ahmad Lone ,Gh Mohi Ud Din Sheikh,Mohd Jabar Magrey ,Mohd Sultan Sheikh ,Ab Majid Bhat,Master Mohd Afzal and others ,large number of people including parents of children, teaching staff and prominent citizens were also present.
