November 12, 2017: There are a number of teachers here in Education Zone Aishmuqam who were appointed to teach in various Schools in Aishmuqam Zone's far flung areas ,but after getting appointment as RT Teachers, they used political influence and pulled strings in the education department to get attachment postings at Aishmuqam and other native places. Meanwhile classes are not being held here in regions like Pahalgam due to lack of teachers. The travesty is that these teachers are drawing salaries from here but are serving in other places and the education deptt offices . is equally complicit in the crime by not calling these teachers back and getting their attachment extended over and over again. We demand concerned authorities in the administration esp. the District Development Commissioner Ananthnag DC, Chief Education Officer Ananthnag CEO,Zonal Education Officer ZEO Aishmuqam and urge the teachers' union aishmuqam to raise the demand that all such teachers be immediately called back to Pahalgam and other such far flung areas where they were initially appointed. If they refuse their appointments should be cancelled and local educated youth be appointed as RT in their place who can regularly come and teach students here in schools in far flung areas where students are already facing much deprivation.
